Terms of Service
Last updated: October 22, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Ambysto DevBox app ("DevBox") and the purchase of a DevBox Pro license from Ambysto Technologies LLC ("Ambysto", "we", "us"), a limited liability company organized under the laws of Wyoming, United States, with its registered office at 1021 E Lincolnway #10890, Cheyenne, WY 82001. They apply together with the Ambysto Terms of Service, which cover all our products; where this page is more specific about DevBox, this page applies. By installing, buying or using DevBox, you agree to these terms.
1. Who may use DevBox
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. If you use DevBox on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf.
2. What DevBox is
DevBox is a desktop app for macOS, part of the Ambysto Pro Suite. It lists the ports your Mac is listening on, your container runtimes (Colima, Docker Desktop, OrbStack) and your AI coding-agent sessions, and lets you stop a process or run a fixed set of container commands after you confirm. It runs on your own computer and has a free version. Pro features are unlocked with a license key that you buy once, for DevBox alone or for the whole suite. The features in Free and Pro are described on this website at the time of purchase.
3. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use DevBox. You may use the free version at no cost. A Pro license key unlocks the Pro features of the apps it lists, within the use limits described on this website or at checkout.
You may not share, resell or publish your license key, or attempt to bypass the license check.
4. Stopping processes and container commands
DevBox acts on your Mac only after you confirm, in a sheet that shows what will happen. You are responsible for reviewing that sheet before you confirm.
- Stopping a process sends it one polite stop request (
SIGTERM) and nothing stronger. A process may save its work, take time, or ignore the request; DevBox reports what happened and never forces it. - DevBox offers a stop only for your own processes. It never stops the operating system's services, other users' processes or your container runtime itself.
- A container command runs the command shown in the confirmation, on the items it lists. Removing a container, an image, a volume or build cache deletes that data from the runtime, and it cannot be brought back by DevBox.
- Pro alerts only inform you; they never stop or remove anything.
- Use DevBox only on computers you own or are authorized to manage.
5. Price and payment
A DevBox Pro license is a one-time purchase at the price shown at checkout. It does not renew, and you are not charged again for it. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable taxes, which are added where required. Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use DevBox to break any law or infringe anyone's rights, to disrupt systems you are not authorized to manage, or to resell or sublicense DevBox without our written permission.
7. Updates and changes
We may update or improve features over time. If an app update removes a material Pro feature, you may keep using the version you already have, or request a full refund of that Pro license within 30 days of the update.
8. Disclaimers
Except as expressly stated in these terms, DevBox is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that DevBox will list every process, port, container or session, that a stop request will end a process, or that it will work with every runtime, tool or version of macOS.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ambysto will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to DevBox is limited to the amount you paid us for DevBox in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using DevBox at any time and uninstall it. We may cancel a license key if you materially breach these terms or the payment for it is reversed.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Laramie County, Wyoming.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and, for material changes, notify customers by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
